Privacy Policy

The simple act of visiting a website leaves a trail of information, a “digital footprint,” about visitors like you. Sometimes this footprint is vague and preserves your anonymity and other times it is tied specifically to you and your real life identity.

If all you do is click around and read pages, the data captured about you is vague. If you leave a comment or sign up for a newsletter, the data captured about you is sometimes very specific. Almost all web sites on the web today collect data in this fashion about visitors, and this site is no different.

It is our belief that you deserve to know how we handle your information. Consequently, the Privacy Policy below is a disclosure concerning our intent with your data. It is not a legally binding contract. It is a statement of intent made in good faith.

If you are unsure what something means, please ask. Contact information is available at the bottom of the Privacy Policy.

Usage

Data is used for the express purpose of enabling you to read, respond to, and discover published content topical to this site, and nothing else.

Duration

Data may be kept indefinitely.

Commerce

Data is never bartered or sold for commercial gain.

Advertising

Data is never given to advertisers.

Law Enforcement

Data may be given to law enforcement at discretion of site owner.

Data may be collected by analytic services.

Not Yet

Living in the Not Yet

There are many places in Scripture where the phrase “how long, oh Lord” is expressed. This phrase exhibits a longing for change and protection. As I listen to news of the day I connect with this sentiment. There is much in our world that appears out of control and evil seems to win the day […]

Randy Pope on a Healthy Church

My 50 or so years of church experience has shown me that most churches either have no plan to bring people into maturity or if they do have a plan it is not very effective. This is a shame and there is no good excuse for it.

In the church you will have tribulation

Well, that’s not exactly how Jesus said it. His actual words were: “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33, ESV But the problem is that those of us that are in […]

Fight

Fighting The Wrong Enemy

I read this morning in Mark 9:40, that whoever is not against us is for us. These are the very words of Jesus Christ but often forgotten by those that bear his name. We expend energy in fighting other believers and ignoring the real enemy. Too often doctrinal litmus tests are developed to see who […]

Worship

It is a worship problem, not a sin problem

If I am worshiping God, if I am acknowledging my dependence upon him, then, and only then, I have the perspective to see these sins for what they are. They are ugly, no matter how much the culture around me (both church and state) seek to justify them or make them palatable.
