The command, “no running” can be inferred from the places where we are told to stand firm. Our job is to stand in spite of difficulties and fear.

The fight against inanity

The struggle I have is that the church can be just as unthinking and un-engaged as the people the author describes in the article. In the church, we have real answers to real questions, but too often the church is the last place where people feel comfortable asking those questions.

On Empty Consolation

In this Christmas season, we celebrate Emmanuel, God with Us, who came to earth to make that comfort and joy possible. But we should also keep in mind that the baby in the manger came knowing that he would also be the God on a Cross as the means of producing that joy.
