Who gets the glory?

Have you ever sat through a sermon on a Sunday, thinking that the preacher was doing well, only to walk away not remembering the point of the sermon? I have experienced a sermon or two after which I remembered the opening joke or a touching illustration but did not remember anything about the Biblical text for the message.

Why call it Christian?

Why call your religion Christian if you don’t want to obey Christ?

Several church groups this summer have either abandoned traditional marriage or are considering doing so. My question is why call your religion Christian if you do not wish to obey Christ?

Do not be anxious

The problem is that often I don’t even realize that I am getting anxious. In those times, I lose sight of what is really important in the press of the urgent stuff around me.

Stumbling blocks: how we live matters more than our words

Parents and church leaders, the best thing we can do for the next generation is to renounce our selfishness and come to meet Jesus at the Cross in humility and submission. We need to confess where we have compromised and seek to recover the ground that was lost. We want to hear the words of Matthew 25:21, “well done good and faithful slave.” We need to live lives that point to the reality of the Gospel.
