When David charged Solomon to build the Temple, he said, “Arise and work, and may the LORD be with you.” (1 Chronicles 22:16).
This is a good word for us today. Or, more specifically, this is a good word for me today.
I sense that God is telling me, “Arise and work, do the thing that I have put before you. Don’t spend time figuring out how it all fits together. Don’t feel the pressure to think through all the possibilities. And most importantly, don’t think that I will give you any unimportant tasks, no matter how mundane they may seem at the time.”
In short, I need to do the next thing, trusting that God will reveal the one after that.
The best news is that Jesus is with me as I do it (Matt 28:20).
