Question on Hebrews 6

Recently, a friend emailed a question that came up in a small group Bible study regarding Hebrews 6. There was question about whether Hebrews 6 teaches that a person can lose his/her salvation. This post contains my response to the question.

I read a where a social media guru recently said something to the effect of, “there are two types of people involved in social media, those who want more followers and those who are lying about it.” With the advent of social media, there is a danger in finding our validation in follower counts. Where should our validation come from?

A Bridge and not a Wall

God does not always choose to work within the boundaries of our established traditions. Traditions can be helpful as a point of reference, but they can also be shackles that keep us from effectively engaging the culture around us. When our tradition ceases being a bridge and becomes a wall, it is longer contributing to the purpose of the church.
