I have read this psalm many times, but this morning I came away with a different impression than I have ever had before.

Off Track

Internally focused and off track

When the world looks at the church and sees something different than the Christ we claim to worship they have a legitimate reason to criticize us. Neither our theology nor our practice should prevent us from emulating the Christ we see in the Gospels.

Vision of God

Purity of heart is the means of seeing God

The Beatitude tells us that the pure in heart will see God. What does this purity look like and how will it assist vision of God? When will this vision be manifested?

Love and Fear

The truth is that I am not strong enough. And it is not my ability to love that will cast out fear. It is a right understanding of who God is and how much he loves me that will take away my fear.

Prophetic Voice

On the need for a prophetic voice

The bottom line is that I need a prophetic voice in my life. So, I guess I’m OK with my pastor making me feel uncomfortable. Perhaps in this I am in a minority.
