Cold-Case Christianity for Kids

Posted on November 5, 2016 Written by Mark McIntyre Leave a Comment

cold-case-kidsI was recently sent a copy of Cold-Case Christianity for Kids by J. Warner Wallace and Susie Wallace. I have previously reviewed (and recommended) two of Wallace’s earlier works, Cold-Case Christianity and God’s Crime Scene so I knew going in that I was likely to enjoy this book also.

This book takes the concepts from the original Cold-Case and sets them in a story about the training of some junior detectives. While the junior detectives learn principles about solving a mystery surrounding a skate-board, they also learn to apply those principles to Christian beliefs about Jesus Christ.

The story moves along well and there are many illustrations that are well done and very helpful.

You can find more information about this book and additional resources at www.coldcasechristianityforkids.com. There are videos and activities on the site that go along with the book.

Psalm 43:3 – Light and Truth

Psalm 43:3 (ESV) 3 Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling! As I read this verse this morning, I was reminded of Jesus’ claim to be the light of the world found in John 8:12, 9:5 and 12:46. Since […]

A peron reading the Bible

On holy heartburn

We should be reading with expectation of learning how our involvement in the story will change us. We should be reading with expectation of learning the extent of God’s love for us. We should be reading with the expectation of getting a glimpse of what we will become when God finishes his work in us.

We should be reading with expectation of holy heartburn.

Martyn Lloyd-Jones on COVID-19?

I read this paragraph by Martyn Lloyd-Jones which was originally published in 1953. I couldn’t help but think that what Lloyd-Jones has written speaks to the current crisis caused by COVID-19. Let us not therefore be stumbled when we see surprising things happening in the world. Rather let us ask, ‘What is the relevance of […]

Off Track

Internally focused and off track

When the world looks at the church and sees something different than the Christ we claim to worship they have a legitimate reason to criticize us. Neither our theology nor our practice should prevent us from emulating the Christ we see in the Gospels.

Humility in church leaders

Before removing a fence, a wise man will seek to understand why it was put there in the first place. When I look at many churches today, I wonder if they have ever heard this proverb. What I see is a forsaking of anything that could be considered traditional coupled with a full embrace of […]
