The drive for acheivment is a good thing if it is in obedience to the two great commands given us by Jesus. That drive is God-given and is part of what it means to be created in his image.

When your church becomes cultish

If the leader or leadership of your church speaks ill of people after they leave, then that church is becoming cultish no matter how orthodox the teaching and worship might be.

The danger of virtue-signaling

We need to be ever vigilant against our inner Pharisee.

Easter

Easter should blow our minds

But this is exactly what we celebrate at Easter. Jesus came back from being dead and caused a stir in Jerusalem one Sunday morning. This event should cause us to ask all sorts of questions if we are really connecting with what happened.

Working together in ministry – No solo acts

If the entire church body is ministering together in the community, not only will the pastor influence the congregation, the congregation will influence the pastor. When this happens the congregation will “stimulate one another to love and good deeds,” (Hebrews 10:24)
