The rejection of a made-up God

Posted on February 26, 2012 Written by Mark McIntyre 1 Comment

Too often, it is a caricature of Christianity that is rejected. I suspect that this is the case as I react to an article in the Huffington Post Religion section. This is a call to make an informed choice.

Teaching Evolution in the Church?

Posted on February 15, 2012 Written by Mark McIntyre 2 Comments

This post is a reaction to Paul Wallace’s article in the Huffington Post as to why he teaches evolution in the church. There are some underlying assumptions that need to be examined and this post is an attempt to do so.

On the need for the intercession of saints

Sister Marianne Cope

An article in the Huffington Post regarding the elevation of Marianne Cope prompted an examination of the need to pray to saints. What are we saying about the character of God when we teach that it is necessary to ask the saints to intercede on our behalf?

They allowed their fear to overwhelm their faith. They had ample […]

Wheat and Tares

Don’t be surprised by the tares

I’m writing this because a good friend of mine is struggling to recover from the betrayal that this pastor in a real church in a real city represents. I have a mixture of sadness and a tinge of anger in response to this situation. In praying and thinking about this, I was reminded about the parable of the tares.
