John’s Gospel begins, “In the beginning was the Logos.” A paragraph by Nancy Pearcey helps set this phrase in its cultural context.

Water, chisel or dynamite? Choosing the right tool to drive change

For effective change to take place in an organization, the leader must understand the needs of the organization and select the proper tool to drive that change. The analogy of using water, a chisel or dynamite to change rock provides some insight as to the proper speed and amount of change that is needed.

Beyond the Gospel

Moving beyond the gospel?

In some churches I have attended, there is a sense that the gospel entails the elementary teaching of Christianity. To move toward maturity then requires that people move beyond the gospel into more “meaty” doctrinal teaching.

I have come to realize that this is wrong headed and leads not to maturity, but to immaturity. The effect of this teaching is the exact opposite of the desired result.

Look Both Ways

It’s a matter of perspective – reaction to the angry atheists

Atheist authors present God as vengeful and capricious. Jesus presented a very different picture of his father. We must choose the correct perspective to view God correctly.

God's Crime Scene

God’s Crime Scene – Book Endorsement

God’s Crime Scene is a book that I know I will re-read and refer to as part of my apologetics library. If you have any interest at all in knowing where the evidence point with regard to the beginning of the universe, I strongly recommend that you pick up a copy of this book.

Clinging to the rope

We are kept by a power not our own! Praise God that we don’t have to figure everything out. All we have to do is cling to Jesus.
